Track GLS Canada packages

GLS Canada

GLS Canada is a national transportation company providing Parcel, Freight, Warehousing and Logistics services across Canada. The business grew from Dicom Express, a Canadian courier founded in Quebec in 1968, and became part of the international GLS Group following its acquisition in 2018. Subsequent network expansion has given GLS Canada direct transportation capabilities from coast to coast.

For smaller shipments, GLS Canada's Parcel service handles packages such as envelopes, pouches and boxes weighing less than 150 lb. The company operates an expedited ground network with interprovincial delivery and nationwide Canadian coverage. Businesses can manage parcel shipping, rates, pickups and shipment information through GLS Canada's smart4 shipping tools.

GLS Canada also transports larger shipments through its Freight network, including less-than-truckload and truckload services for shipments above the parcel category. Its wider logistics offering includes line-haul management, parcel and freight consolidation, final-mile delivery, warehousing, reverse logistics and supply-chain support. Parcel and Freight shipments can also be collected and delivered together in parts of the GLS network.

For recipients waiting for a delivery, Tracking provides the most direct view of a shipment's progress. GLS Canada offers real-time online tracking, while 4Tracking provides universal package tracking that can be useful when you want to Track GLS Canada packages together with shipments handled by other carriers.

How GLS Canada shipment tracking works

GLS Canada records shipment events as a package moves through its transportation network. Its official Tracking pages can display stages such as Shipment Created, Pickup, In Transit, On Delivery and Delivered, along with the terminal or location associated with individual scans. Some delivered shipments also indicate that a signature was received.

To Track a GLS Canada package with 4Tracking, enter the tracking number in the tracking field. 4Tracking can automatically identify the carrier when the number matches available carrier data; if necessary, choose GLS Canada manually. Press the Track button and you will be redirected to the results page, where the latest available package tracking events are displayed.

GLS Canada's own Tracking tool can search using tracking numbers or shipment references and supports multiple numbers or references at the same time. For additional shipment details and proof-of-delivery information, GLS may request the destination postal code.

A missing update does not automatically mean the package has stopped moving. GLS Canada explains that Tracking can temporarily remain unchanged when a shipment is awaiting pickup, when a scan is missed, because of a technical delay or during weekends and certain holidays when the company is not operating. Tracking information can sometimes take several hours or even a day to update.

GLS Canada tracking number formats

GLS Canada describes its tracking number as a unique alphanumeric code assigned to a shipment, whether the shipment is an envelope, package or skid. The company does not publish one rule stating that every GLS Canada tracking number must have exactly the same length or prefix, so the identifier should always be entered exactly as supplied by the sender or GLS.

Current shipment records on GLS Canada's official Tracking system provide confirmed examples such as P50355233, U77773463 and U64838922. These examples consist of one letter followed by eight digits. They confirm that this format is actively used for some GLS Canada shipments, but they should not be interpreted as the only possible tracking-number format used across all Parcel, Freight and logistics services.

GLS Canada also has specific instructions for MaxPak shipments. If you are trying to Track a MaxPak, the carrier says to remove the "1" at the beginning of the MaxPak tracking number before entering it into the GLS tracking system. This is a carrier-specific exception and should not be applied to ordinary GLS Canada package numbers.

GLS Canada delivery times and examples

GLS Canada does not publish one universal number of delivery days for every ground package. Transit time depends on the origin and destination, so the company provides an official transit-time calculator that uses the pickup postal code and destination postal code to estimate delivery. GLS notes that the calculated delivery time is an estimate and can change without notice.

For urgent shipments, GLS Express provides a clearly defined next-business-day example. GLS Canada states that eligible parcels can be collected from specified locations in Ontario and Quebec and delivered on the next business day to supported destinations across Canada. Pickup areas currently listed include the Greater Toronto Area, Barrie, Cambridge, Hamilton, London and Pickering in Ontario, as well as Chambly, Drummondville, Laval, Montreal, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières in Quebec.

Supported next-business-day GLS Express destination examples include Vancouver in British Columbia; Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta; Regina and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan; Winnipeg in Manitoba; Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John in New Brunswick; Charlottetown and Summerside in Prince Edward Island; several Nova Scotia locations including Halifax and Dartmouth; and destinations in Newfoundland and Labrador including St. John's. GLS notes that exceptions can apply and that service locations can change.

Actual ground transit varies considerably by route. For example, an official GLS Canada Tracking record for a Ground shipment from Scarborough, Ontario to Vancouver, British Columbia shows the package being picked up on July 6, 2026 and delivered on July 10, 2026. This is a real shipment example rather than a promised four-day standard, so customers should use the current transit-time calculator for their specific postal codes.

How to contact GLS Canada about shipment issues

If package tracking has stopped updating, the package is late or you need help understanding its status, GLS Canada's Customer Experience team can be reached at 1 888 463 4266 or assistance@gls-canada.com. GLS publishes Customer Experience availability from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

GLS Canada also provides an online contact form through its official support section. Before contacting the carrier, check the latest Tracking events and keep the GLS tracking number available. For a shipment that has not updated, GLS additionally recommends checking the number for errors and confirming with the shipper that the package was actually picked up.

For lost or damaged shipments, GLS Canada has an online claims system. The carrier states that the GLS account holder responsible for the shipment invoice is the party eligible to submit a claim. A claim may require the GLS tracking number, a cost or repair invoice and photographs when applicable. Recipients who are not the shipping account holder may therefore need to contact the sender or retailer so that the appropriate party can open the claim.

Technical problems with GLS websites or shipping systems can be directed to the company's IT support at 1 866 683 7025 or tech.support@gls-canada.com. For ordinary delivery-status questions, however, the Customer Experience contact is the more appropriate channel.

Frequently asked questions about GLS Canada package tracking issues

Why is my GLS Canada tracking number not working?

Check the number carefully and enter it exactly as supplied by GLS or the sender. GLS Canada uses alphanumeric tracking numbers and does not state that all shipments use one universal format. If the shipment was recently created, also confirm with the sender that GLS has actually picked it up before assuming the number is invalid.

What does a GLS Canada tracking number look like?

Official GLS Canada Tracking records include examples such as P50355233, U77773463 and U64838922, each consisting of one letter followed by eight digits. These are confirmed examples of numbers currently used by GLS Canada, but the carrier does not state that every shipment must follow this exact structure.

Why has my GLS Canada package tracking stopped updating?

GLS lists several possible reasons: the package may still be awaiting pickup, a checkpoint scan may have been missed, a technical issue may have delayed the Tracking update, or the shipment may be moving during a weekend or holiday. GLS says information can sometimes take a few hours or up to a day to update.

Why does Tracking show a different city from my delivery address?

GLS Canada explains that Tracking can display the nearest terminal when the shipment is out for delivery rather than the actual municipality where the package will be delivered. A different city name in this situation does not necessarily mean the package is travelling to the wrong address.

How long does GLS Canada take to deliver a package?

There is no single delivery time for every route. GLS Canada calculates estimated transit using the pickup and destination postal codes. Use the carrier's transit-time calculator for the specific route and then follow the package through 4Tracking once it has entered the network.

Does GLS Canada offer next-day delivery?

Yes, on eligible routes. GLS Express is a next-business-day air service connecting specified pickup areas in Ontario and Quebec with supported destinations across Canada. Availability depends on the origin and destination, and GLS notes that exceptions may apply.

How do I Track a GLS Canada MaxPak?

GLS Canada specifically instructs customers to remove the "1" at the beginning of a MaxPak tracking number before entering the number into its Tracking system. This instruction applies to MaxPak shipments and should not be used to modify ordinary GLS tracking numbers.

Can I Track more than one GLS Canada package at once?

Yes. GLS Canada's official tracking interface supports multiple tracking numbers and references in the same search. 4Tracking is also useful for following multiple packages, especially when your shipments are being transported by different carriers.

What should I do if my GLS Canada package is late?

Check package tracking first and compare the shipment's progress with the estimated transit time for its route. If Tracking has not updated after the expected period, verify the number and confirm that GLS picked up the shipment. You can then contact GLS Canada's Customer Experience team at 1 888 463 4266 or assistance@gls-canada.com.

What should I do if my GLS Canada package is lost or damaged?

Preserve the package and damaged goods when applicable and notify the sender promptly. GLS Canada's claims system requires the tracking number and supporting documents, and photographs may be required for damage. GLS states that the account holder responsible for the shipment invoice must file the claim, so recipients may need the retailer or sender to submit it.

Can I see proof of delivery for a GLS Canada shipment?

GLS Tracking can show a Delivered event and may indicate that a signature was received. For supported shipments, entering the destination postal code on the detailed GLS tracking page can unlock additional shipment information and access to proof of delivery.
